This legislation would undermine and discredit the past four years of what the state has asked of the Hemp Businesses as an industry. Bill 1676 would cause significant job losses and irreparable damage to the economy in an area that has seen tremendous growth over the past few years. Causing many families to default on homes and vehicles, businesses, bank loans, and more.

Our elected officials must stand up for small business owners and reject this proposed Senate Bill 1676 as it is before it devastates millions of families nationwide and across the state of Florida who rely on Hemp for business. The Impact of Florida, Bill 1676 on CBD, Delta 9 Wellness, would affect millions of people and pets in Florida and across the United States; tons of full-spec hemp wellness products sold in pharmacies and stores like Walgreens, CVS, Sprouts, and others invested in these remedies would make everyone illegal overnight. 

Senate Bill 1676 would create regulatory challenges that are too demanding for most small business owners and farms in Florida. Not to mention the environmental effects of demanding the use of single-use plastics in manufacturing because of the 2mg limit pre-package bill language. The impact on Florida’s hemp industry would be immediately far-reaching, potentially wiping out the industry as a whole.

This would devastate small business owners who have just paid new years permitting fees, new leases, and insurance policies and worked hard to build their businesses, stay compliant and provide for their families here in Florida and have abided by Federal and Florida's current regulations.
